Changelog
New:
- Various buff/debuff and event consequences for actions in roleplay events.
- Combat combo system
- All potions now have a primary base ingredient associated with them
- Playing potions in specific sequences triggers additional effects as well as refilling your focus upon completion of the combo
- Continuing a sequence reduces the FC of those potion card plays by 1
- Certain cards occasionally have a finisher effect that will play in addition to all of the other benefits if that specific card is the final card played to complete a combo
- Lots of new artwork
- New Bat enemy
- Accuracy-influencing traits for both card and enemy attack design
- Blindness status effect
- "Channeling"
- Menus to view your potion and ingredient inventory in
- New in-run HUD that shows buffs/debuffs you have applied as well as maximum hp and maximum focus
- Added a "New Run" button in the pause menu so you can restart if your run is cooked
Changed/Removed:
- Playtesting and balancing enemy/event/potion design
- Some stability fixes
- Boost the numbers of everything in the game(potions, enemy stats, player hp and focus cost)
- Adjust spawn rates for several encounters
- Visually adjust card tooltips
- Allow max hp and max focus to be upgraded as a monster reward
- Visually clean up status effect ui in combat as well as pop up labels
- Remove trash can from brewing encounters and instead allow player to drag cards off the screen to remove them from the table
- Polish settings menu UI
- Fixed a memory leak that would cause the game to lag out intensely at random points throughout the game
- Fixed several soft-lock points in the gameplay loop
Future Roadmap:
- One time use consumable powders that apply a special powerful effect to a potion for it's next use in combat
- Artwork
- Music and SFX
- Main menu
- Finishing implementing settings menu
- More thoughtful enemy, potion, ingredient, and event design
Future updates will be focused on using the systems and mechanics that are already built in fun and creative ways and exploring them to their full depth. The game should be 90% playable now so I am focusing future efforts on more raw content as well as polish and QoL for the time being.
